Yes. Food got cheaper. Groceries take fewer minimum-wage hours today than in the Boomer era. Agricultural productivity is real. That is the only line on the receipt where the cohort's story survives the data.
The Ontario minimum wage went from CAD 1.00 in 1964 to CAD 17.60 in 2025. A multiple of 17x. In the same window the median Canadian house went up 49x. A Boomer's minimum-wage hour bought 2.9x more of a starter home than yours does. Same hour, smaller life.
